Workshop on Educational Audit organised by Nagpur Sahodaya Schools Complex, Nagpur on 27th Oct 2018

A one day workshop on Educational Audit was organised by Nagpur Sahodaya Schools Complex ,Nagpur at Narayana Vidyalayam, Chinchbhavan by Mr. S K Bhattacharya a renowned educationist,Advisor-Child Education Society, managing chain of 19 Bal Bharati Public Schools all over the country. In all around 200 Principals and teachers from schools in and around Nagpur attended the workshop. The workshop started with the lighting of the lamp by Mr. S K Bhattacharya-Resource Person and the office bearers of Sahodaya Schools Complex ,Nagpur. The Resource Person in his address spoke about the social responsibility of private schools towards society. He propounded that the role of a Principal has undergone a tremendous change. Therefore a Principal needs to have an all round personality. He should be a good PRO, Counsellor, Effective Communicator and an efficient finance manager to name a few. He also put forth the parameters to evaluate a school and the need to have a complete and holistic programme prepared by the school Principal in consultation with other stakeholders. Speaking on Positive Discipline Mr. Bhattacharya said courage, conviction, confidence and life skills are the qualities needed for class room teaching and positive discipline creates responsible citizenship. While dwelling upon Audit Proforma he dealt with the importance and the need to have a yearly audit and complete follow up action. He mentioned the various areas that need to be taken into consideration while preparing the audit proforma. Special guests on the occasion were Mrs. Annapoorni Shastri, Director, Bhavan’s BP Vidya Mandir, Mrs. Neeru Kapai , Chief Patron - NK Academy and Dir. Modern School, Mrs. Mukta Chatterjee Director Centre Point Group of Schools, Nagpur and Mrs. Kona Roy Chaudhary – one of the founder members of Nagpur Sahodaya Schools Complex. Prominently present were Mrs. Radhika Mehra, Principal, Centre Point School, Dabha (Chairperson - NSSC), Mrs. Reena Dargan, Principal, Ira International School (Vice - Chairperson - NSSC), Fr. Joseph Koovely, Principal, St. Vincent Palloti School (Joint Secretary - NSSC), Mrs. Mala Chembath, Principal, Narayana Vidyalayam (Treasurer – NSSC) and Mr. Uday Thosar, Principal, Neeri Modern School (Joint Treasurer – NSSC). The programme was conducted by Mrs. Reena Dargan and Mr. Uday Thosar proposed the vote of thanks.
